Dennis Goldenson

Dennis is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) under the supervision of Ariel Cohen, LMFT, and specializes in treating children, adolescents, and young adults with a special focus on college-aged populations. He utilizes his training in person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused strength-based approach to treat transitional adjustments, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsions, family/relationship issues and a range of social-emotional development needs. 

Applying evidence-based techniques, Dennis collaborates with each unique client to support them in developing a sense of self and empower them with coping techniques and tools to enhance their overall emotional well-being. Dennis has considerable clinical experience working with neurodivergent populations (ADHD, and Autism) and develops treatment interventions to foster self-sufficient skills and ongoing improvement, and recovery.

Along with these methods, Dennis has worked in various communities and environments including mental health agencies, school districts, colleges and private practice and has sizable experience working with culturally diverse individuals, children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families. As part of his private practice, in collaborating with young clients, Dennis creates a warm, safe, and supportive environment to foster positive change.

Dennis received his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, and his M.S. in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in attachment theory from California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA.
